Take a Walk
Recently, my daughter and I went on a walk. We were headed in the direction of two chocolate stores that we had not yet explored downtown, but along the way we found many interesting detours.
We stopped for a while to watch the filming of a commercial. We wandered side streets that we had never been on before. We took time to read the history behind a strange sculpture that we pass all of the time. It changed our entire perception of the sculpture.
We played tourist with the camera, but instead of focusing on the famous sites of New York City, we took photos of benches, street signs and staircases.
We took photos of tourists taking photos of the New York Stock Exchange. We were not rushed. It was the perfect way to relax.
When was the last time you went on a relaxing walk through the city? One where you were not concerned with deadlines, walking fast to increase your heart rate or trying to get photos of all the famous places?
When did you last take the time to talk, walk and really listen to your child?
Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to take a walk, especially now that the weather is starting to get warmer.
Take a walk, relax and enjoy some time with your family.
